Bye-bye the decade with no name. What are you relieved to draw a line under?

Worrying about what to write for my first Campaign A List.

What’s your biggest hope for the decade ahead?

That Samuel, Beth and Oliver don't become terrible teens. And that Rosie arrives safely and is a good sleeper.

And what’s top of your professional to-do list for the 2020s?

To have some more fun making great work that works… and see where that takes me next.

You have to job swap with someone in our industry for one month. Who would it be with and why?

Sian, Sara, Shu, Beth, Kit or Alice. Our bright-eyed and bushy-tailed young planners with their whole careers ahead of them – I'm positively envious.

Who is your best friend in the industry and why?

Rick Brim. He makes everything more fun.

What do you think the Friday feeling is?

Getting out of the office early to pick my kids up from school. I'm sure that's the kind of thing the Mad Men used to say, too.

Who or what would you put into room 101 and why?

Who: Tammy Einav in the run-up to a pitch because she's annoyingly right about everything. What: Pokemon Cards because they are a very expensive way of starting fights between my kids.

If you could uninvent one piece of technology, what would you choose and why?

Self-service checkouts. Yet another example of me struggling with everyday life. They are a faff and in the next decade they will put a lot of people out of a job.

In the spirit of embracing failure… What has been your biggest screw-up?

Turning up over an hour late for my interview with Dave Golding. Luckily, he was uncharacteristically forgiving.

What do you do to stay match fit?

Dads' football every Wednesday night. Everyone tries to feel young again but ends up feeling old (and injured).

What would be your darts walk-on music and why?

Here Comes the Hotstepper by Ini Kamoze (obvs).
