Bye-bye the decade with no name. What are you relieved to draw a line under?

It's been a great decade for me on a personal level. I'd probably have to say the mess David Cameron has kindly put us in.

What’s your biggest hope for the decade ahead?

I get my big movie break. I'm still waiting to be tapped on the shoulder to become the next Scarlett Johansson. In all seriousness, it has to be getting our industry back on top, making it the go-to industry for great talent and creativity.

And what’s top of your professional to-do list for the 2020s?

Continue to re-engineer our businesses and make them amazing places to work and to truly stand out.

You have to job swap with someone in our industry for one month. Who would it be with and why?

David Golding – he's currently sitting on his arse doing nothing.

Who is your best friend in the industry and why?

Annette King – great fun, loyal and truly cares. People always assume we dislike one another because we play for different teams but I think it’s a testament of our friendship that this has never got in the way.

What do you think the Friday feeling is?

A skip and a hop out of the door once you’ve done all of your work, knowing you have quality time with family and friends ahead – that’s my Friday feeling.

Who or what would you put into room 101 and why?

Brexit. I don't think it needs an explanation.

If you could uninvent one piece of technology, what would you choose and why?

Wifi on planes and when I’m on holiday. It's good to switch off sometimes.

In the spirit of embracing failure… What has been your biggest screw-up?

Embracing failure and sharing failure are two very different things.

What do you do to stay match fit?

Drink red wine and do no exercise.

What would be your darts walk-on music and why?

This question has to have come from Jeremy Lee! It’s got to be Firestarter by The Prodigy, it’s my go-to tune, very good for karaoke too.

The lowdown:

The wonder woman running the merged Wunderman Thompson business has had a busy first year integrating the two WPP shops. Work for BT Sport and KitKat shows that Edwards’ refreshed UK team is picking up momentum but her ultimate boss, Mark Read, has admitted it’s going to take time to turn around the global operation.
