Bye-bye the decade with no name. What are you relieved to draw a line under?

Brexit. Oh, hang on a minute...

What’s your biggest hope for the decade ahead?

At the risk of sounding like a beauty pageant contestant... a better world. I think the advertising and media industry has an important part to play in helping create that.

And what’s top of your professional to-do list for the 2020s?

Winning Campaign's agency of the year for UM. This would be a manifestation of the growth strategy we have put in place this year and a reward for all the hard work it's taken as an agency to deliver on it. It's certainly not all about awards but this recognition would be a symbol of what we have built together.

You have to job swap with someone in our industry for one month. Who would it be with and why?

My husband. He's director of digital product at ITV, in charge of all things ITV Hub. I think it would be great for us to walk a month in each other's shoes. We already have a lot of empathy for each other's roles and this would take it to a whole new level.

Who is your best friend in the industry and why?

Marie Carey. She was my first boss in media – she’s crazy and she’s the godmother to my youngest daughter, Evie.

What do you think the Friday feeling is?

It’s noon and it’s our Friday15 all-agency round-up of the week. We share news, work and laughs. And we are into the home straight. After a hard week's work, the weekend is almost here and at UM we finish at 4pm; what’s not to feel good about? Time's up, work’s over, I’m outta here!

Who or what would you put into room 101 and why?

Nine to five. Not the song, I love Dolly, but the work routine. It’s outdated. We embrace agile, smarter working at UM and it's great for business.

If you could uninvent one piece of technology, what would you choose and why?

Email. I like talking to people, seeing their reactions, building real relationships. And I think that's hard to do electronically. And I love a stamped letter.

In the spirit of embracing failure… What has been your biggest screw-up?

Not joining Facebook when it was a small office in Soho.

What do you do to stay match fit?

Boxercise on Sheen Common every Saturday at 8.30am.

What would be your darts walk-on music and why?

My older brother used to sneak me into the Hacienda and it’s fair to say it had a profound effect on me so something from the Madchester era. Hallelujah by Happy Mondays.
