Bye-bye the decade with no name. What are you relieved to draw a line under?

The bumps in the road have made me better, stronger and more focused. It's been an awseome decade for learning, I will be building on that, not drawing a line under it.

What’s your biggest hope for the decade ahead?

Sending two happy, healthy boys into a happy, healthy world, when so much seems to be conspiring against that plan.

And what’s top of your professional to-do list for the 2020s?

Doing my job and finding a way to create the space and time to do the above to the best of my abilities.

You have to job swap with someone in our industry for one month. Who would it be with and why?

Ant Hil. Not only a fabulous name, but a fabulous job too ;-)

Who is your best friend in the industry and why?

(Adrian) Colebags and Uncle Charles (Vallance) – verging on family. And Steph Brimacombe – thank you for the hugs when the going gets tough :-)

What do you think the Friday feeling is?

I don't work Fridays, so it's switching into "Mummy mode" and doing school runs, kit bags, Mummy coffee mornings and pretending I know what's going on in the school gossip.

Who or what would you put into room 101 and why?

People who have become so obsessed with jumping on the bandwagon of rights or issues that they appear to have lost all common sense, and do more harm than good for the cause they are apparently championing.

If you could uninvent one piece of technology, what would you choose and why?

Apps for everything. I just bought a new electric toothbrush and they suggest I download their app – seriously? For pity's sake, why?

In the spirit of embracing failure… What has been your biggest screw-up?

Not taking to task badly behaved people. It's the hard route to take at the time, but it always seems to pan out well in the long run, and I sleep without rocks under my pillow.

What do you do to stay match fit?

Sleep. Sleep is the answer to most ills.

What would be your darts walk-on music and why?

The Sound of Silence by Disturbed. That should scare the competition.
