M&C Saatchi has raided the world of business consultancy to find a

managing director for its new ’one-stop shop’ for advertisers wanting to

go online.

Eben Lenderking, a US-born senior executive at Gemini Consulting in

London, takes over the day-to-day running of eMCSaatchi, launched at the

end of last year to combine advertising know-how with web design,

consultancy and distribution expertise.

Lenderking, 33, who spent two years as an account executive at Ogilvy &

Mather in New York, also played a major role in the development of Egg,

the Prudential’s internet banking service.

His appointment ends a six-month search by headhunters on behalf of the

agency in Europe and the US to find a suitable candidate.

M&C Saatchi is majority owner of the new operation, which is set to

announce the signing of its first three clients.

Lenderking will head a team of ten staff, which includes designers,

technical experts, strategic planners and account executives.

Nick Hurrell, M&C Saatchi joint chief executive and chairman of

eMCSaatchi, described Lenderking as an ’artistic strategist’ who came

highly recommended by his clients.

’That’s important because while some companies are offering parts of the

service, we are trying to do the whole thing. Eben’s experience of both

advertising and consultancy is very important.’
