- 24/7 Media, the international advertising company, is the subject of industry speculation this week, following the departure of three of its technical staff.
Rob Whitehead, the group's operations director, has left the company, as have a client services executive and new-business development manager. All of the departures are from the technology department of the business, and the group's uptake of new business is slowing down.
Carl White, regional director (UK and Ireland) at 24/7 Media UK, said the redundancies in the UK offices were part of the ad company's business restructure. He said: "We will still be taking on new business, although perhaps not as much as usual."
The company released a statement that said: "By streamlining the business in this way, 24/7 Media will have the resources to continue to build the business to achieve long-term profitability and invest in technology that will improve the quality and range of offerings to clients."
24/7 announced that it was intending to cut 200 jobs in its US offices by the end of the year, but that there were not expected to be any UK redundancies at the time.
However, the company's Scandinavian branch is also understood to have been hit by job cuts, although it is still open for business.
