Ski and snowboarding website Complete-Skier.com has signed up
internet sales house 24/7 to handle its global advertising and
sponsorship.
The site, which has over 100,000 users, will be 24/7’s 20th new client
in the past three months.
It won the contract from the giant online sales house DoubleClick, which
is rumoured to be planning a takeover of 24/7 (see page 4).
Aside from representing Complete-Skier.com, 24/7 will take on its sister
website Complete Snowboarder.com and www.fall-line.co.uk, the site of
ski magazine Fall Line, as part of the same deal. It will also sell
Complete-Skier.com’s branded areas on the service provider
www.lineone.net.
Sales teams in 12 European markets as well as 24/7 Media in the US and
24/7 Asia will run the worldwide project.
Complete-Skier, founded by former British Olympic Ski team member
Michael Liebreich, offers 30,000 pages of information including the
web’s biggest resort database, winter sports news, snow reports, a
fitness and instruction programme and a chalet holiday booking
service.
The official host of the British Ski and Snowboard Federation site,
Complete-Skier.com’s traffic peaked at around one million page
impressions per month in the 1999 ski season.
However, Liebreich is keen to double its traffic over the 1999/2000 ski
season and will run a marketing and advertising programme, as well as
signing up distribution arrangements with several portals in an effort
to get the site noticed.
Tanya Pein, managing director of 24/7 said: ’Complete-Skier.com attracts
a high spending ABC1 audience, which is much in demand from
advertisers.’
