AAR's Glazer to take the reins as its new managing director

The Advertising Agency Register, the agency selection service, has appointed a new managing director.

Kerry Glazer, who joined the AAR as a commercial director last year, was promoted to the position this week. Glazer came to the AAR from WCRS. She has also worked at Kendall Tarrant and J. Walter Thompson.

Until now, Martin Jones, the owner of the AAR, has held the title of managing director. Glazer's appointment is intended to free his time to concentrate on bringing together agencies and advertisers.

He said: 'Kerry's promotion is in recognition of the role she has already been fulfilling in the running of the company on a day-to-day basis. She has the skills and the vision to take the com-pany forward into the next stage of development.

'One of the things she will be looking at is our move into new communications areas such as digital media.'

Glazer added: 'The AAR offers assistance to clients looking for a new advertising agency. As the number of agencies and clients in this area is increasing, we felt that it made sense for Martin to concentrate fully on this side of our business.'

The AAR also recently hired Michelle de Young as a new-business and marketing manager to promote its new 'one-stop shop' approach, where it aims to advise on whatever communications discipline clients are looking for.

Founded more than 25 years ago by Lyndy Payne, the company has offices in Bangkok, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Madrid, New York, Paris, Singapore and Sydney. As well as consulting on advertising, the AAR also helps place clients with agencies in design, direct marketing, media planning and buying, PR and sales promotion.
