ACP-Natmag backs new title with £6m

ACP-Natmag is launching its second weekly title, Real People, with a £6 million campaign by Clemmow Hornby Inge and Initiative Media.

The real-life magazine will hit newsstands this week, with a cover price of 60p. It will compete with titles such as H Bauer's Take A Break and IPC Media's Chat.

Television, poster and press ads use the slogan: "There's a time and a place to share your story." Three TV spots feature people announcing their real-life problems in inappropriate places.

Real People will be edited by Vicky Mayer, the former deputy editor of IPC's Now magazine. Content will focus on real-life stories but also includes lifestyle features, puzzles and money-off vouchers.

The title is aimed at women aged between 18 and 80. A display ad page costs £8,900.

Last February, Campaign revealed the name of Real People (Campaign, 4 February), which was developed under the title Project Cloud.

Colin Morrison, the chief executive of ACP-Natmag, said: "ACP-Natmag will have a weekly circulation reaching more than one million women, which makes us a major player."
