Action 2000 returns to regional press for December push

The Newspaper Society’s Feature Link service has won a pounds 630,000 regional press campaign for Action 2000, the Government’s Millennium Bug watchdog.

The Newspaper Society’s Feature Link service has won a pounds

630,000 regional press campaign for Action 2000, the Government’s

Millennium Bug watchdog.

Feature Link is a service that targets potential advertisers who don’t

normally use regional press, such as Government bodies and

charities.

It is the third time the service has persuaded Action 2000 to put its

budget into the regional press; it has already run two successful

Millennium Bug campaigns this year.

Feature Link offers tailor-made advertising features to a network of 750

co-ordinators who are responsible for advertorials in 1,300 regional

titles. Action 2000 has supplied them with a page of advertorial with

national elements to which local editorial copy can be added.

The campaign will run from 13 December.

Action 2000’s marketing director Nicky Ackhurst said: ’If the Feature

Link service did not exist we would not have been able to run this

initiative.

We have been impressed with the results we have seen in previous

regional press campaigns.’

The Newspaper Society also recently landed the Christmas anti-drink

drive campaign through Feature Link, and private sector wins include

Barclays Bank, Nuffield Hospitals and Manchester United.
