ADSlogans Unlimited, a service that helps advertising agencies research and develop advertising slogans, has launched onto the internet.
The service allows agencies to checkout taglines and slogans to see if a line has been used, or is close to an existing line.
ADSlogans has a database that includes thousands of advertising slogans mostly from the UK and the US. It goes back more than ten years and stretches across all product categories and covers all media.
Agencies using the service which up until now has not been available online can, for instance, check for a single line or a whole category.
ADSlogans is designed and run by former advertising executive and author Timothy RV Foster.
According to Amy Smith, the marketing director at WCRS, ADSlogans is an invaluable service: "Particularly in pitch scenarios, it has saved us time and money. After all, there is no point getting wedded to something that has been used before. It is quick and easy and you know whether you are on to something profound and original in an instant."
The ADSlogans site also carries a weekly game called 'What's my brand' that tests visitors advertising awareness.
In addition, Foster has launched the Advertising Slogan Hall of Fame to recognise excellence in advertising. He is currently looking for suggestions to be included.
