Mike Anderson has an eye for a good sales scam - even if it’s a
dog.
’Once he came back from a holiday in Australia, where they have loads of
hot-dog stands, with a scheme to set up his own hot-dog business,’
Weston recalls. But he suspects Anderson’s terrible sense of direction
put paid to the idea, because he would never have been able to find his
pitch.
’He was always getting lost on the way to meetings. Once he drove me
round and round the Hangar Lane gyratory, because he couldn’t find the
turn-off.
’Mike took me on in 1991 when he was client sales manager at The Mail on
Sunday. He can do absolutely anything if he puts his mind to it.’
