Good office? Just off Fleet Street. CNBC is located on the sixth floor

of a magnificent building. ’The view is great. On one side there’s the

London Eye and on the other is St Paul’s Cathedral,’ says Embry. ’The

kitchen has all the usual facilities including a vending machine and a

microwave. It’s a non-smoking environment.’



What’s it like? ’I am part of a fantastic sales team. It’s fun and

everyone is open with each other,’ enthuses Embry. ’The atmosphere is

great. It’s an amazing feeling to be working directly behind the studios

where presenters and guests are live on air. When news breaks it’s

chaos. Everyone in the company is helpful to each other - if you have an

idea it will be heard.’



What about perks? ’Access to the international team is a great perk.



We get to travel around the world to meet other CNBC sales teams. The

thrill of working around the studios is a perk in itself.’



Is it good at training? ’Travelling abroad to discuss working tactics is

used as a form of training. We are taught sales and presentation skills

by leading training companies, here and worldwide. The training we

receive is focused to the needs of individuals’



How does it recruit? Mainly through recruitment consultancies. Embry

explains: ’We always look to hire people who are forward thinking and

who look beyond the television screen. We want to attract individuals

who are keen, enthusiastic, energetic, and dynamic.’



How do you get ahead? ’The secret to success at CNBC is to believe in

the product, work as a team and help each other.’
