Although Richard Jacobs pretends not to be phased by the whole
celebrity thing, the head of sponsorship at Emap On Air admits that
rubbing shoulders with pop stars once gave him quite a buzz.
’I’ve eaten in some of the best restaurants in the country and passed
out in some of the best bars in London. But my favourite moment was when
I worked on Q, Select and Mojo, and I was lucky enough to be invited to
the Q awards.’
That’s where he was given a light by The Stones’ Ron Wood and met
Oasis.
’I know name dropping is uncool and it irritates me when other people do
it, but I felt like a kid in a sweet shop.’
