The Guardian’s Stuart Taylor was delighted when British Airways
invited him - along with other sales executives - to go on safari in
South Africa.
’We were instructed to pack lightly with the emphasis on casual attire,’
he recalls. ’So I turned up at Heathrow in jeans and t-shirt, only to
find the others in their best blazers and chinos.’
His fashion faux pas forgotten, Taylor concentrated on enjoying the
safari.
’We saw giraffes, elephants and lions, had barbecues under the stars and
got drunk on the local firewater. It got pretty surreal when we were
asked to make presentations. Some people had even brought their laptops
to the middle of the African bush.’
