AKQA signs Aneto to head planning unit

LONDON - AKQA is launching its own media planning unit, and has appointed Michael Aneto as the head of media planning for its London office.

Aneto joins the digital agency from OMD UK, where he worked as a media director, heading the planning team on Vodafone's consumer activity.

Aneto will build and head an in-house communications planning team at AKQA, and is expected make a number of appointments in the coming months. He will work across accounts including Diageo and Microsoft.

Aneto said: "We're taking AKQA's pioneering spirit into all areas of media planning. Digital has fostered a faster, deeper adoption of cultural influences, while new content distribution channels have enormous potential."

The AKQA chairman and founder, Ajaz Ahmed, said: "We're very excited about Michael's appointment. His focus will be on media innovation, and ensuring that we continue to invest in the best people and communications planning systems."
