Alexander moves to McCann to become a managing partner

McCann Erickson London has hired Mischa Alexander, the founder of HHCL Brasserie, as one of two new managing partners to work across the agency's global clients. Alexander, who joins from the sponsorship agency Sponsorvision, takes on responsibility for MasterCard, Signet, Southcorp Wines and JP Morgan.

The move reunites Alexander with Rupert Howell, the chairman of McCann London and the founder of Howell Henry Chaldecott Lury. Alexander launched HHCL Brasserie, a fast turnaround, project-based offshoot of the main agency, in 1996. He previously worked at Saatchi & Saatchi.

Howell said: "Mischa is an old friend and an old pro. He knows how to handle big clients and he has always been associated with highly creative, effective work. He also knows how to run a business, so he will be a valuable addition to the team."

Alexander is joined by Nick Sykes, a former group development director at Partners BDDH Group, who will head the UK Nestle and Bacardi accounts at McCann.

Sykes joins from the London office of Brand Architecture International, the TBWA-owned brand development company.
