- The Alliance & Leicester is talking to agencies about a top-secret strategic project. The bank's £8 million above-the-line spend is currently split between BMP DDB, Barraclough Hall Woolston Gray and Brann. It is understood that BMP has not been approached about the new project.
A spokeswoman from the Alliance & Leicester declined to name the shortlist of agencies that the bank has approached, but said a decision is expected next week. She said: "We have put out a brief but we are still weighing up the final decision."
The news of agency talks comes amid reports that the bank has hired Lloyds TSB marketing director Graham Pilkington. It is unclear where the hiring would leave the company's existing group marketing director, Tim Pile.
