Maiden Outdoor is to cover 1,500 of its billboards with posters

inviting the public to investigate the Christian initiative Alpha.

The 48-sheet posters will go up in September on Maiden sites and outside

churches across the UK.

They are part of a country-wide initiative to promote the Alpha course,

which offers non-churchgoers ’an opportunity to explore the meaning of

life.’

Maiden has been supplying Alpha with sites for three years but this is

the biggest campaign yet.

Francis Goodwin, the poster contractor’s managing director, said: ’The

advertising is intended to raise the profile of Alpha and make it easier

for church members to invite their friends.’

The posters will underpin a project called ’Inviting the Nation to

Supper’ - part of a strategy by British churches to reverse the decline

in church attendance.
