Amadeo and Tarpey join AMV creative team

Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO has bolstered its creative department with the appointment of Andy Amadeo as a creative director and Hugh Tarpey as the head of design.

Amadeo was previously the creative director at Grey London, where he co-created and directed Toshiba's "space chair" in 2009. Since leaving Grey a year ago, he has been working on his own projects.

He has also worked at agencies including WCRS and CDP and built a long-standing creative partnership with Mick Mahoney, now the executive creative director at Euro RSCG London.

Tarpey joins from Fallon, where he was also the head of design. He was with Fallon for 11 years, having joined initially as the lead designer at Duffy, the design agency that was part of Fallon.

Paul Brazier, the executive creative director at AMV, said: "Andy has a broad experience of exciting work and Hugh has a great understanding of big brands. They are brilliant additions."

The hirings are part of AMV's ongoing effort to boost its creative offer and follow the arrival of Andy Clough and Richard McGrann as creative directors from Bartle Bogle Hegarty last month.
