Didn’t they do well? Seven of the ’faces’ to have featured in
Campaign’s regular ’Faces to Watch’ talentfest now hold senior positions
at Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO.
Jeremy Miles is a main board account director responsible for, among
other things, running the BT account; Malcolm Duffy and Paul Briginshaw,
featured when they were at Collett Dickenson Pearce, joined AMV in 1992
and have produced noted work for the Economist, W. H. Smith and
Farah Ramzen is now board director for BT Business while John Harlow
runs Rocket, AMV’s media and youth targeting subsidiary. Work produced
at AMV by Mary Wear and Damon Collins, who joined in 1995, includes
Famous Grouse and Tambrands.

Jeremy Miles, 33, has ’the kind of ambition that leads to the chairman’s

Miles moved to AMV after a year at McCormicks, and has worked on British
Caledonian, Sainsbury’s and Dunlop as an account manager, before taking
over as account director of the Sainsbury’s and the Economist
The copywriter, Malcolm Duffy, 31, and the art director, Paul
Briginshaw, 34, are at their nearest spiritual home: Collett Dickenson
They were hired by creative director John O’Donnell on the basis of
their work on Citroen and Morphy Richards for Colman RSCG, which has won
three Campaign Press silvers and a D&AD silver.

Mary Wear, 29, and Damon Collins, 23, met on a copywriting course at
Hounslow College. Collins dropped copywriting to become an art director.
After college they joined FCB, working on London Transport and Kahlua.
At GGT, the pair worked on Cadbury’s Wispa, Complan and the COI.

After four years in the business, John Harlow, 26, is a media account
manager at AMV BBDO, working on Sainsbury’s, Yellow Pages and
He started as a media assistant with FCO before a brief stint with
At the Advertising Association’s Media Business course in Bournemouth
last year, Harlow was one of four finalists as a syndicate leader.
Farah Ramzan, 30, is the account director on Sainsbury’s and Gossard at
Her first job was at Burkitt Weinreich Bryant and Partners, which she
joined in 1987. She moved to AMV in 1990 as an account manager and,
within a year, became an account director.
’Farah combines a razor-sharp brain with bags of drive and common
sense,’ Cilla Snowball, head of client services, said.
