AMV duo land June Aerial Award for BT

Sonny Adorjan and Milo Campbell, the Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO creative team, have won the June Aerial Award for best radio ad.

The team's "total security" spot for BT Broadband was judged to be the best of the month by Simon Griffin, the creative director of Love.

The BT Broadband spot was directed by Phil Cockrell and Graham Story, and produced by Zoe Dale at AMV. Nick Angell at Angell Sound was the sound engineer. Media planning and buying was handled by Starcom.

The runners-up in the June Aerial Awards, held in association with Campaign, were Nick Bird and Grant Hunter of Iris for their "sounds like" spot for Network Rail, and Karrie Fransman and Oliver Meech from The Red Brick Road for their "think" spot for Tescodiets.com.

The winning BT Broadband ad features a male voiceover delivering a rant about the features he expects from his broadband service.

Griffin said: "Being tied down to a year-long contract with BT for my broadband, I started to wonder what it is I'm paying for. But these ads reminded me why, with the help of a Dennis Leary-style stream-of-consciousness rant, and got better the more I listened to them."
