AMV picks up global Laing O'Rourke brief

Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO has been awarded the global creative duties for the building contractor Laing O'Rourke.

The agency, which worked in conjunction with PHD and Bernard Hodes (Omnicom's recruitment specialist), won the business following a four-way pitch against Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R, Grey and Saatchi & Saatchi.

AMV will be briefed to develop a global campaign designed to build the stature of the brand around the world as the company extends its global capabilities.

As well as the brand work, the agency will also work closely with Bernard Hodes to create an integrated global recruitment campaign designed to attract the best talent from around the world to the business.

Laing O'Rourke is the UK's largest privately owned construction company and has a global project capability, with offices in Australia, Asia, Europe and the United Arab Emirates.

The company has worked on high-profile projects from The Bullring Centre in Birmingham to the renovation of the Ascot grandstand, which was opened in June 2006.
