AMV wins Kinsale Agency of the Year

LONDON - London agency Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO has picked up the Agency of the Year award at the 46th Kinsale Shark Advertising Awards in Cork.

The prize was one of 15 gongs won by AMV at the ceremony, which for the first time covered three different categories: promo, broadcast and print.

Gorgeous Enterprises picked up the Palm D'Or, awarded to the most successful production company on the night, while Fallon scooped the overall Grand Prix for Cadbury's "gorilla".

Gorgeous Enterprises was the major winner in the broadcast section, scooping 11 Sharks, six of which were golds, including three for Sony "Play-Doh" by Fallon.

MJZ Group also performed well in the category, picking up three gold and four silver awards.

In the promo category, the Irish broadcaster RTE stole the show, landing a massive 14 Sharks, including a gold award for "best sports promo" (for the channel's coverage of the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics).

In the newly formed print section, AMV won 15 Sharks, including three golds for the Museum of Childhood. Leo Burnett Group was the second most-awarded agency in the category, winning 12 Sharks.
