AMV's Helen Chaffey poached to manage TBWA Mars account

TBWA/London has poached the head of Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO's Mars business, the board account director, Helen Chaffey, for the role of managing partner to head its growing Mars account.

TBWA handles Mars accounts including Whiskas, Pal and the organic range Seeds of Change.

Previously, Chaffey worked on Procter & Gamble as an executive board director at Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper until the account moved in a global realignment in 1998. In August 1999, she left advertising to work for P&G in its Belgium office as the associate director of advertising for its home and fabric global business unit.

She joined AMV in 2001 to head the Mars business.

This is the second time TBWA has poached a high-level staff member from AMV in recent months.

In November, the agency lured AMV's senior group account director Katie Halling, to replace the managing partner, Gavin Thompson, who resigned at the beginning of the month.
