Ann Harris is quitting as the Publicis marketing director to go
solo with her own marketing and PR consultancy.
She plans to draw on her promotional skills - built during a 15-year
career in advertising - to help PR agencies, sales promotion companies
and direct marketing specialists market themselves more effectively.
’Agencies are the worst at marketing themselves,’ she said. ’That’s why
Publicis hired me. It’s scary to be running your own show, but if I
don’t do it now I never will.’
The departure of Harris will spark a restructure of the Publicis
new-business operation with Lucy Bryn Davis, an account director working
on Nestle, becoming business development director. She will work with
the managing director, Grant Duncan, and keep her responsibilities.
