AOL brings indie music portal to UK

LONDON - AOL is rolling out its flagship US music website Spinner in the UK, which features news about artists, upcoming releases and video content.

The website is supported by AOL Advertising, formerly Platform-A, which offers brands standard and integrated opportunities to reach the website's 6.5m monthly unique visitors.

Spinner offers daily updates on festivals, tours, in-depth features and stories direct from musicians.

A new "Interface" feature streams exclusive live performances from upcoming indie bands.

Spinner UK will also host CD listening parties, where albums can be listened to before their release date.

Bill Crandall, vice president, AOL Music, said: "Launching Spinner into the UK marks the latest milestone as Spinner extends the success we have seen in the US.

"We are continuing to tap into music passion points by creating genre specific sites to create the most comprehensive music experience on the web."
