– AOL UK has signed a deal to sponsor BSkyB's Sky Premier film channel on Sunday evenings.

At the same time AOL UK announced that AOL and CompuServe members in the UK will be able to view Dresdner Kleinwort Benson's real-time share prices through each service's respective Finance Channel.

The film sponsorship kicks off on December 19 and will see the weekly evening slot dubbed Sunday Nights with AOL.

The sponsorship, put together with BBJ Media Services, consists of 15-second opening and closing idents around each movie and will be supported by a heavyweight on-air promotional campaign across the sponsorship period, which runs through to September 2000.

The partnership will also see one million Sky subscribers receiving AOL's completely free trial offer via a CD-ROM to be distributed with the April issue of Skyview Digital TV Guide, Sky's monthly magazine offering the very latest entertainment news.

Keith Hawkins, director of marketing, at AOL UK, said, "Sponsoring Sunday Nights with AOL is an exciting 'first' for AOL UK. Our family oriented service dedicated to providing compelling, stimulating and entertaining community and content for UK consumers is the ideal sponsor for Sky Premier."
