Audit body appoints new chief exec

- The Audit Bureau of Circulations has announced the appointment of Chris Boyd as its new chief executive officer. Boyd, a former director of IPC, will take up his new position at the end of September. He replaces Simon Devitt, who left the post in April.

Boyd takes on the CEO role at a time of significant change for ABC. The Bureau is currently looking to extend the range of its auditing beyond traditional print publications. Boyd will oversee developing audit procedures for websites and WAP technology.

Boyd left his post at IPC in 1998 to become a business consultant. He joined the company's ad sales department in 1975 and worked his way up to become managing director of IPC Southbank in 1995.
