McCullough joins the Guardian Media Group owned company from computer services and software firm, Kalamazoo, where he held a number of key positions.

At Auto Trader, which claims to be the UK's biggest motoring website with 8.5 million audited impressions for July, he will be responsible for driving the brand forward in both the UK and Europe.

One of his early focuses will be to build closer links with the retail automotive trade through a significant expansion of the direct sales and marketing operations aimed at franchised and non-franchised dealers.
