The agency cited strategic and creative differences with the Garden City, New York, based company. The most recent work the agency produced for Avis carried the tagline: "We try harder. For You".

Avis has appointed Pile & Company in Boston to conduct the review for the company. In recent years Avis has seen its market share decline. It is now ranked fifth in the US rental market.
