British Airways has appointed Poster Publicity to handle all its UK

outdoor planning and buying business after a three-way pitch against

Portland Advertising and the incumbent, Concord.

The appointment was made directly by BA, rather than through its

existing agencies. The account covers all BA poster advertising in the

UK, including long- and short-term sites at airports. It is the second

piece of business PPL has won direct from a major advertiser - the

agency secured Prudential at the end of last year.

PPL will work for BA alongside Walker Media, which handles the planning,

and Optimedia, which handles the buying.

Eric Newnham, the managing director of PPL, commented: ’All of the other

outdoor specialists are owned by other agencies; we’re the only truly

independent one, and that counts for a lot.’
