Bacardi draws up agency shortlist

Bacardi is also hunting for an agency to create a global campaign for its main Bacardi Carta Blanca brand (Campaign, 13 August). The account is worth £38 million.

It is talking to a long list of agencies across Europe and in the US, but is expected to announce a shortlist next week. The UK incumbent is McCann Erickson.

Bacardi has generally run local campaigns for its drinks brands. Global advertising campaigns for spirits brands are rare because of the plethora of different regulations. Regulations in France are much tighter than those in South America, for example.
