Banc has appointed the veteran creative Peter Harold, the former head of art at Ammirati Puris Lintas, as its new director of advertising.
Harold has been freelancing since his departure from APL last October.
Over that period, he has worked at a number of agencies, including Banc, whose creative director, Graham Norways, left last year. His plan to create a start-up after his departure from APL never materialised.
The move reunites Harold with Banc's chairman, Robert Bean, who he worked with on BMW at WCRS in 1988.
Harold said: 'I've freelanced at a number of agencies since leaving APL last year, but something about this place just felt right. Joining Banc is the next best thing to launching my own start-up. It's not a huge agency but that's why I like it, it's very lively and fun.'
Harold has held senior positions at a number of London agencies, including WCRS, BMP DDB Needham and Ogilvy & Mather. He has created award-winning work for both BMW and Volkswagen.
