Ken Hoggins and Chris O’Shea are handing over the day-to-day
creative control of Banks Hoggins O’Shea/FCB in preparation for broader
management roles.
The pair will remain as executive creative directors although management
of the agency’s 12 teams will pass to Dave Alexander, the head of copy,
and Rob Fletcher, the head of art, who will become joint creative
directors.
The changes are in line with plans by the agency’s chairman, John Banks,
to create a group structure which will embrace direct marketing and
e-commerce subsidiaries.
Banks said: ’The first step is to release some of our talent, and if we
go to a group structure I will need Ken and Chris to take a wider role.
I want to get us in shape for the next ten years.’
Fletcher and Alexander joined Banks Hoggins in January 1996 from Delaney
Fletcher Bozell where they won acclaim for their Halifax building
society and Fresh Brew work.
O’Shea said: ’The place has grown tremendously since the merger and
Chris and I have other things to do. We need to bring on the
second-tier management. Not only are Dave Alexander and Rob Fletcher
very talented but they know how to motivate people.’
