- Leading US bookseller Barnes & Noble is hunting for a new agency to handle its $35 million international advertising account.

The creative account review comes less than a year after Barnes & Noble hired New York agency Weiss, Whitten, Stagliano, and only a few weeks after the debut of its the shop's first TV commercials for the bookseller.

The Barnes & Noble is reported as given the agency three months' notice

It is understood that Weiss, Whitten, Stagliano will not repitch for the $35 million business, the bulk of which is devoted to the company's online bookselling activities.

Barnes & Noble, although the US's top book retailer, still lags behind Amazon.com online, the internet bookseller, which has recently begun an international advertising campaign through FCB.

Media buying for Barnes & Noble is unaffected by the creative review and will continue to be handled by VSM Media, New York.
