Bass Hotels & Resorts, parent of the Posthouse and Holiday Inn
brands, has fired the starting gun on a pitch for its pan-European
The pitch is being conducted by Simon Stringer, the brand director for
Holiday Inn of Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Stringer said: "We need an agency for the European consumer that
understands the market and can help target it."
It is not yet known if the appointed agency will also handle the work
for the Middle East and Africa regions.
"We are reviewing what we need in terms of resources. That process is
ongoing. We are drawing together our plans for integration - but it's
too early to say what direction we are going to take," Stringer
The company is searching for a UK marketing director for the Holiday Inn
brand after the departure of the Posthouse marketing chief, Arnold
Stringer will oversee UK marketing until an appointment is made.
In April, Bass acquired Posthouse, which had 79 UK hotels to add to the
32 Holiday Inn UK hotels, as part of its purchase of the Forte Hotels
Group from Granada Compass.
The company is looking to rebrand the majority of the Posthouse hotels
with the Holiday Inn name.
