Bates Interactive has been appointed by the Prime Minister’s office
to develop the Number 10 Downing Street website.
A number of unnamed digital agencies competed for the task of taking the
Number 10 website on to its next level of development. The site was
originally launched early last year by BMP Interaction and Oyster.
Bates won the task on the back of the highly regarded Foreign and
Commonwealth website that it built last year. It will handle all
elements of the task in-house, including design, production and
strategy.
Michael Crossman, Bates Interactive’s managing director, said: ’This is
more than just a fantastic win for us. It is also a fascinating example
of something we have started to come across a lot - being appointed to
move an organisation’s existing web presence into a second, or even
third-generation site.’
The Number 10 site can be located at www.number-10.gov.uk.
