BBC launches Dr Who magazine on back of show's revival

LONDON - BBC Magazines is attempting to cash in on the success of the 'Doctor Who' series by launching a magazine focusing on the timelord's antics.

Doctor Who Adventures, a fortnightly magazine aimed at six- to 12-year-olds, will launch to coincide with the second series of 'Doctor Who' this spring, which stars David Tennant as the Doctor.

The magazine will be priced at £1.99 and will offer original content including comic strips, interviews, competitions and puzzles.

Each issue will be covermounted with a collectable 'Doctor Who' gift.

Toni Round, the publisher of BBC youth and children's magazines, said: "We are proud to be producing this magazine for such an iconic programme. The abundance of material will enable us to give young fans a literary extension of the programme, providing them with fresh and exciting content."
