- The BBDO Group has won the biggest advertising pitch held in Turkey for the last six years following its appointment to handle the $18 million (£11 million) integrated account of the bank, Yapi Kredi.
It is one of three recent wins that have added $21.5 million in new billings to the agency.
BBDO beat eight other agencies, including McCann-Erickson and J Walter Thompson, to the bank's brief. The agency will be responsible for both above and below the line activity and the first work is due to break in late July.
On a smaller scale Brown-Forman has appointed BBDO Turkey following a four way pitch to handle its Jack Daniels and Southern Comfort brands. Billing are put at $2 million.
BBDO won the business after pitching against Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy & Mather and McCanns and it is now developing a cinema and magazine campaign for these two brands.
The agency's third win comes with its appointment to oil company Total's $1.5 million account following a pitch against Euro RSCG. The agency will create print and radio ads as well as developing a promotional programme.
