BBDO New York triumphs at Art Directors Club awards

LONDON - BBDO New York was the big winner at the 89th Annual Art Directors Club Awards, which celebrate the world's best creative and design campaigns, while five UK agencies were highlighted.

BBDO New York picked up three ADC Gold Cubes, thanks to its "Affair" and "Cube Film Installation" work for HBO.

The agency's success was closely followed by Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and Wieden & Kennedy Portland, which both won two Golds, for General Electric and Nike respectively.

ADC Cubes were awarded for work from 25 countries this year, with five UK agencies earning recognition.

DDB UK secured a Bronze in the Television and Cinema category thanks to its "Like a Golf" TV ad for Volkswagen, while Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R was awarded a Merit in the same category for its "Local Radio" spot for the BBC.

Leo Burnett's "House of Cards" campaign for Shelter picked up a Merit in the Collateral Advertising category, while Lean Mean Fighting Machine and Poke both earned Merits in the Interactive section.

LMFM's Merit was awarded for its "Last Call" campaign for Samsung Mobile, with Poke awarded for its "Baker Tweet" initiative for Albion Bakery.

The awards ceremony will take place in New York's SVA Theatre on 19 May, where the winners of the Agency of the Year, Network of the Year, Interactive Agency of the Year and ADC Vision Award will also be announced.
