Bcom3 has broken with established practice among the world's
leading communications groups by appointing a woman as its financial
Eileen Kamerick, named as the group's executive vice-president and chief
financial officer, stands alone among the biggest agency holding
companies as the only female in what has been an otherwise
She is also the first CFO to be appointed by the group, the umbrella
organisation for Leo Burnett, D'Arcy and Starcom MediaVest, in which
Japan's Dentsu has a 20 per cent stake.
Kamerick joins from United Stationers, where she had been working as
vice-president and chief financial officer since September last
She previously held a similar role at BP Amoco America and is a former
vice-president and treasurer of the Whirlpool Corporation.
A Chicago law school graduate, Kamerick also graduated with honours in
finance and international business from the University of Chicago's
graduate school of business.
Roger Haupt, Bcom3's chairman and chief executive, cited Kamerick's
diverse background with public companies as key to the group's efforts
to grow its operations and become more effective.
He said: "Eileen's experience in financial reporting and management,
mergers and acquisitions and strategic planning will be invaluable."
