BDH TBWA is merging its direct marketing unit into Tequila

Manchester, its below-the-line sister agency, in a joint venture that

will be called Tequila Manchester.

The merger will bring 27 staff together in a new building and will be

headed by Tequila Manchester’s senior management. Key staff will include

Paul Biggins as the managing director and Richard Sharp as the creative

director.

The client list of the new shop will include Airtours, Carex, First

Direct, Imperial Leather, JD Williams, Manchester Airport and

Vileda.

BDH and TBWA, Tequila’s parent network, came together in February 1998

when Omnicom bought GGT which had acquired BDH in 1988. GGT then merged

with BDDP which in turn merged with TBWA Simons Palmer to become TBWA

GGT Simons Palmer.

Tequila Payne Stracey set up its Manchester office a year ago and now

claims billings of pounds 10 million.
