On the Beach's absurdist ads are narrated by rock icon Iggy Pop.
Each spot tells the story of a different character and the worst weeks of their lives, which escalate through ridiculous scenarios such as a woman who poisons her child’s entire school with dodgy cupcakes. But their troubles fall away on the beach, where the sunlight, stillness and waves bring peaceful, simplistic thoughts. "Everything’s better on the beach," Iggy Pop concludes.
Sally’s story, in which both of her parents sleep with her best friend, is accompanied by a spoof website, thesuburbancowboys.com, that shows suggestive scenes from the action. The campaign will run across TV, cinema, radio, video-on-demand and out-of-home. It was created by Uncommon Creative Studio and directed by Jeff Low through Biscuit Filmworks.
