Bede House "Signal for help" by J. Walter Thompson London

Bede House's campaign has been shocking users of free public Wi-Fi by seemingly connecting them, via FaceTime, to what appears to be a distressed woman begging for help as her partner abuses her.

The signal appears as the unlocked "Free_Public_Wi-Fi" service. But instead of driving users to a login-in page, those who choose the service are shown a film of a woman pleading for help.

Bede House is a Southwark-based charity that supports local residents.

The campaign has been running around the UK, targeting towns that have the highest reported incidents of domestic abuse.
