Bell to head Y&R Advertising

- Young & Rubicam Group, New York, has restructured its management team and has appointed Thomas Bell as head of Y&R Advertising.

Bell, who is currently chief executive officer of two other Y&R owned companies the Diversified Communications Group and the Burson-Marsteller PR, succeeds Ed Vick worldwide chairman-CEO. Vick will remain as chief operating officer of parent Y & R and chairman-CEO of the Y&R/WCJ Partnership.

Also announced is the departure of Mitch Kurz, vice chairman-chief client officer for Young & Rubicam, who is to leave the company at the end of the year. He will be succeeded by Linda Srere, who is currently president of Y&R Advertising's New York office.

Taking over the New York office in place of Srere will be Y&R North American Chairman-CEO Peter Stringham.
