THE BIG DEAL: NBCi adds Ancestry.com's search services to its site

Family history destination Ancestry.com and news portal NBCi.com

have embarked on a joint venture to help people get back to their roots.

The deal calls for Ancestry.com to provide all content for NBCi's new

Genealogy Center.

The agreement gives NBCi members access to Ancestry.com's search

services, which cover more than one billion records in over 3,000

databases, as well as a step-by-step guide on how to trace family

history. Users can also connect with others researching similar family

lines through message boards, sign up for a free email newsletter and

order genealogy books, CD-ROMs and other products.

'We recognize the tremendous growth of family history as one of this

country's most popular hobbies, and this empowers our users to find data

from their computers,' said Benjamin Feinman, VP of content programming

at NBCi.com.
