The media pitch is part of a wider company review led by Martin Glenn, the Birds Eye chief executive and former PepsiCo UK president. Andy Beattie, the marketing director at Birds Eye, is handling the review.
Starcom is understood to have been in talks with Birds Eye since Unilever sold the business to the private equity group Permira six months ago. At the time, MindShare, which handles Unilever's pan-European media account, retained the account despite the sale of the company.
Last month, Birds Eye appointed The Big Kick as its direct marketing agency and is in the process of a review of its trade marketing activity. Its creative account, held by Bartle Bogle Hegarty, is unaffected.
