HHCL and Partners has cast Bob Holness, the compere of the TV quiz
show, Blockbusters, as the victim in a spoof murder mystery campaign for
Britvic’s fruit drink range, Robinsons.
The work continues last year’s ’different every time’ theme. There are
three episodes, each with three different 30-second versions. In the
first, ’accusation’, three suspects - Mrs Holness, Lucy (his lover) and
Dick (his friend) - are questioned by a tenacious police inspector.
Each execution opens with the words ’who killed Bob Holness?’ The
quizmaster lies prone on a sun lounger as the inspector sips a different
flavour Robinsons drink. ’I’m accusing you, Mrs Holness, of seriously
strangling your husband, Bob,’ proclaims the inspector. Mrs H replies:
’You’re fingering the wrong woman, Sherlock. Bob was having an affair
with Lucy here. You should try probing her, inspector.’
The inspector goes on to accuse Lucy and then Dick in the second and
third spots .
In ’alibi’, the suspects excuse themselves of the crime and in
’resolution’, the identity of the killer is revealed.
The ads will be shown in three separate bursts through the summer until
September. The campaign is backed by a pounds 6.5 million media spend.
The ads were created and directed by HHCL’s creative partner, Steve
Media buying is through TMD Carat.
