Electronics giant Sony has retained BMP OMD to its handle its
pounds 50 million pan-European media business.
Mark Palmer, head of communication strategy at the Omnicom-owned media
network, led the pitch.
He and his account team will continue to run the media brief for Sony’s
consumer electronics division, which is understood to have expanded to
cover more of Europe.
BMP OMD has handled media for the division - which encompasses DVD,
Discman, camcorders, hi-fi and televisions - for five years.
The agency’s new creative partner on the account will be Saatchi &
Saatchi.
The creative agency won the business from incumbent DDB Needham
Worldwide in a separate pitch in August.
BMP OMD pitched against the Media Edge, Zenith Media and MindShare at
Sony Europe’s Amsterdam office.
